Hey Sis, Let’s Talk About New Beginnings
Life has a funny way of nudging us toward paths we never expected to walk. A few years ago, if you’d asked me whether I’d be here—standing at the edge of leaving the “safe” world of government contracting for the unpredictable world of entrepreneurship—I would’ve laughed it off. But here I am, contemplating new beginnings. It’s exhilarating, terrifying, and exactly where I need to be.
The Journey to Here
Starting over isn’t new to me. It’s a theme that’s woven itself through my life—sometimes gently, other times like a wrecking ball. Each time, though, it’s brought me closer to who I really am and what I truly want from this life.
For years, I built what looked like a “successful” life from the outside—a stable job, a loving family, a home filled with love. But deep down, something was missing. I felt it, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until life forced me to take a hard look in the mirror.
Watching my mother’s mental health decline was a wake-up call I never saw coming. It made me confront my own struggles—my happiness, my fulfillment, my purpose. Suddenly, everything was up for questioning—my career, my choices, my entire path.
Long before the pandemic, I remember driving to the office, listening to Beyoncé’s I Was Here, and wondering: What mark am I leaving in the world? Looking back now, I know I was flirting with depression even then. The pandemic just forced me to stop distracting myself from it. That’s when my real journey began.
The Hard Conversations & Realizations
But let’s be real—this journey hasn’t been easy. My husband, Sheldon, and I have had our fair share of intense (and sometimes heated) conversations about me leaving my job. He’s not fully on board with my entrepreneurial spirit yet, and honestly, the idea of walking away from a steady paycheck brings a lot of anxiety to our home.
We’re a team. What I do financially doesn’t just affect me—it affects our entire family. Navigating this shift while maintaining a happy marriage has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. It’s added layers of complexity to my journey, but it’s also made me more intentional about my steps forward.
Learning to Trust the Process
This road to self-discovery hasn’t been smooth. I’ve stumbled—a lot. But I’ve stopped seeing setbacks as failures. Instead, I see them as lessons—each one refining my vision and making me even more clear about what truly matters.
I didn’t know it at the time, but all of these experiences were leading me somewhere. They were pushing me to create something bigger than myself. Something that would bring together all the lessons I’ve learned and help others avoid the same roadblocks that slowed me down.
From Darkness to Light: The Birth of Four Keys Club
The moment I started seriously considering leaving my job, everything clicked. All the struggles, all the soul-searching—it was leading me to create Four Keys Club.
Four Keys Club isn’t just a business. It’s the embodiment of everything I’ve been through, everything I’ve learned, and everything I want to give back to the world. It’s about understanding that true wealth isn’t just about money—it’s about alignment. It’s about building a life that honors your values, passions, and purpose.
It’s about creating communities where people—especially women—can cultivate happiness, discover peace, create wealth, and build legacies that last.
But this isn’t just about Four Keys Club. This is about my story. My journey. And how I’ve come to see that starting over isn’t something to fear—it’s something to embrace.
Embracing the Power of a Fresh Start
So here I am. Still working my job, still figuring out how to replace my income while keeping my family financially stable. It’s a delicate dance—one that requires patience, strategy, and faith.
Balancing this transition while keeping my marriage strong is a journey in itself. And honestly? It’s something I’ll be talking about more in future conversations because I know I’m not the only one navigating this.
But despite the uncertainty, I’m excited—because this time, I’m stepping into something that feels right. Something that aligns with my soul.
Starting over isn’t about leaving something behind—it’s about stepping fully into who you are. It’s about recognizing that every twist and turn has led you to this exact moment, and that moment is full of potential.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me. But I know I’m ready. I’m ready to embrace the unknown, trust the process, and see where this fresh start leads.
A New Beginning
As I take this leap—one careful step at a time—I’m filled with gratitude. Gratitude for the journey that brought me here, for the lessons I’ve learned, and for the opportunity to create something meaningful with Four Keys Club.
But more than anything, I’m grateful for the chance to start over. To align with my true self. To build something lasting—not just for me, but for my family, my community, and for women who are ready to break cycles and design their legacy.
This isn’t the end of my story—it’s just the beginning. And I can’t wait to see where this path leads, for me and for every woman brave enough to start over.
